Medical Laboratory Technician
Job duties of a laboratory technician
– Identifying the components of blood, the tests used on it, and analyzes to detect various diseases.
– Detecting blood types, knowing how to deal with blood donors, and conducting tests for transporting and storing blood units
- Receiving various samples of blood and other body fluids and placing distinctive marks.
– Collect, fix and process tissue samples for examination of cell and tissue diseases.
-Knowing methods for detecting parasites in blood and stool samples. - Preparing culture dishes with knowledge of microorganisms after examining them microscopically, using dyes, or using sensitivity tests.
– Design and implement laboratory tests according to standard procedures and take explanatory notes of the results.
- Conducting DNA analyzes and using a PCR device to multiply them.
– Organize and store all chemicals, liquids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
– Recording all data and results in an organized manner and with high accuracy.
– Maintain used equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
– Ensure that all safety instructions in the laboratory are followed.
– Ensure that a clean and organized environment is maintained.
-Knowledge of sterilization methods in the laboratory.
